Existing law, the Contractors State License Law, establishes the Contractors State License Board to license and regulate contractors. Existing law makes the willful or deliberate disregard and violation of the building laws of the state or of specified other provisions of law law, including certain provisions relating to the business and practice of structural pest control, a cause for disciplinary action against a licensee.
This bill would specify that building laws of the state includes certain prohibitions related to the practice and unlicensed practice of architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, geology or geophysics, and land surveying, and, therefore, would also make a willful or deliberate disregard and violation of those specified prohibitions a cause for disciplinary action against a licensee. The bill would revise and recast the above-described provisions relating to the business and practice of structural pest control to instead be included among the building laws of the state.
