AB 158: School finance: The John B. Mockler School Finance Act.

  • Session Year: 2015-2016
  • House: Assembly
Version:

The California Constitution requires from all state revenues that there first be set apart the moneys to be applied by the state for support of the public school system and public institutions of higher education and requires, commencing with the 199091 fiscal year, that the moneys to be applied by the state for the support of school districts and community college districts be not less than the greater of certain amounts. Existing law provides the method for calculating the amount of moneys required to be applied by the state for the support of school districts and community college districts, and defines the words and phrases used in specifying the method of calculating that amount.

This bill would provide that those provisions shall be known, and may be cited, as the John B. Mockler School Finance Act. The bill would also resolve a numbering conflict within these provisions.
