AB 2825: Teachers: evaluation.
- Session Year: 2015-2016
- House: Assembly
Existing law requires the State Board of Education to develop guidelines that school districts may use in the development of certain teacher evaluation procedures and to distribute those guidelines to every school district.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this provision. require a local educational agency, if the agency, as a part of its evaluation and assessment of a certificated employee, determines that the employee requires additional development and growth to meet adopted standards of performance, to provide the certificated employee professional development opportunities to support the certificated employee in working towards meeting these standards.
To the extent the bill would impose additional duties on school districts and county offices of education, the bill would impose a state-mandated local program.
The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement.
This bill would provide that, if the Commission on State Mandates determines that the bill contains costs mandated by the state, reimbursement for those costs shall be made pursuant to these statutory provisions.
