Bio

Celeste Rodriguez, 36, is a former mayor of San Fernando. She’s a former Los Angeles city employee who worked for former LA mayor Eric Garcetti. As a city staffer, she oversaw the Community Services Section of the Los Angeles Community Investment for Families Department that included the country’s largest “guaranteed basic income” pilot program. She served as the first racial equity officer for her former agency. She was endorsed by her predecessor, Democratic Assemblymember Luz Rivas, and Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas. Rodriguez has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California. She’s married with two children.
