Bio
Diane Dixon, 73, first ran for the Assembly in 2020, losing by just 2,500 votes to Democrat Cottie Petrie-Norris. After the region’s districts were redrawn, she defeated her next Democratic challenger by a substantially higher margin two years later. She’s a former member of the Newport Beach City Council and served two terms as mayor. She’s a former communications executive at Avery Dennison, a multinational firm best known for making self-adhesive labels. Dixon has a bachelor’s in political science from USC. Her husband, Pat Dixon, is special counsel for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. They have a daughter and three grandsons.
