Bio

Jacqui Irwin, 61, is a former mayor, engineer and Academic All American swimmer at UC San Diego. She was elected to the Assembly in 2014 after serving as a city councilmember and mayor of Thousand Oaks. Irwin was a systems engineer at Teledyne Systems and at Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Lab. In the Assembly, she advocated for stronger gun control after a mass shooting in Thousand Oaks, and she was a key figure in debates over privacy related to technology companies, one of which, Ring, employed her husband. She and her husband have three children.
