News coverage of Joe Patterson

Bio

Joe Patterson, 44, is a former legislative staffer and gambling lobbyist who was first elected to the Assembly in 2022. He coasted to an easy victory in his first election in part due to his local political experience in Rocklin in conservative Placer County. He was elected to the Rocklin City Council in 2016 and eventually served as mayor. He has advocated for harsher penalties for domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Married with four children, in his free time, he says he enjoys trail running and coaching his kids’ little league teams.
