Existing law establishes the California Community Colleges, under the administration of the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, the California State University, under the administration of the Trustees of the California State University, and the University of California, under the administration of the Regents of the University of California, independent institutions of higher education, as defined, and private postsecondary educational institutions, as defined, California as the 3 segments of public postsecondary education in the state.

This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact future legislation relating to artificial intelligence in postsecondary education.

This bill would require the California Community Colleges and the California State University, and would request the University of California, before providing an artificial intelligence product to students, faculty, or staff, to provide a training to students, faculty, or staff on the use of the product, as provided.
