Existing law generally provides for the compensation of victims and derivative victims of specified types of crimes by the California Victim Compensation Board from the Restitution Fund, a continuously appropriated fund, for specified losses suffered because of those crimes, including emotional injuries if the crime was a violation of specified provisions. Existing law defines various terms for purposes of these provisions.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the provisions that define terms for purposes of the provisions described above pursuant to which victims may seek compensation for losses suffered because of crime.
