Hello, Members. It's been a few years since my daughter Rachel has been with me. When I was sworn in for the first time in 2016, she had just turned three, and just two weeks ago, she turned ten. So she's gone from walking down the aisle with a binky in her mouth to walking down the aisle with grown up shoes on her feet. Very Rachel. I'm very happy to have my daughter Rachel here with me today.

- Cecilia Aguiar-Curry

Senator Alvarez.
- David Alvarez
Legislator
Good morning And thank you, Madam Speaker. AB 956 is back on concurrence because the California Department of Justice has asked us to take a set of technical amendments in the Senate. AB 956 codifies an existing practice in the State Auditor's Office that they've always had. It requires a California State Auditor to collect fingerprints from prospective employees and contractors and complete the background check with the Department of Justice when those prospective employees have access to confidential information. Without this, the State Auditor's Office will no longer have access to the FBI's criminal justice information System. And I ask you for your aye vote. Thank you.

Thank you, Madam Speaker and Members, I ask that we adjourn in the memory of Bob Boylo, a longtime labor leader and constituent of mine from the Petrell Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Bob served our country on the USS Valley Forge, and after returning from overseas and receiving an honorable discharge, he began a career in the labor movement, where he spent decades fighting for working families and equity in the workplace.
- Matt Haney
Legislator
Bob started his career in the labor movement as an organizer for Ask Me Local 1684 in Humboldt County. Following this, he went on to work for the California School Employees Association, where he proved himself as a brilliant negotiator who was able to bring parties together to find common ground.
- Matt Haney
Legislator
After making a name for himself within the labor movement, Bob was then hired as a business agent, working with Operating Engineers Local Three, where his hard work and dedication of working families led him to being promoted to Local Three's Research Director. In 1990, Bob was elected to the San Francisco Labor Council's Executive Committee, and in 1996, he was elected as Vice President of the San Francisco Labor Council.
- Matt Haney
Legislator
Bob, additionally, was an original Executive board Member of the California Industry Force Account Council, which was founded with his guidance by Operating Engineers Local Three. While Bob's passion for the labor movement was unmatched, so too was his love for his family, especially his love for his wife, Elizabeth and his sons Patrick and Donovan.
- Matt Haney
Legislator
Bob was passionate about paleontology, a passion he shares with his sons, where he spent many days bringing his boys on fossil hunts throughout Northern California, resulting in his sons filling their houses full of fish, fossils and the whole gamut of rock layers throughout the west. Beyond his passion for his family and the labor movement, Bob had a passion for serving his community.
- Matt Haney
Legislator
He served San Francisco in countless ways, including his many years as a Member and vice President of the Petrell Hill Democratic Club Service on the board of St. Gregory's Food Pantry, the San Francisco Boy Scouts as Pac, leader of Pac 88, and his great love of baseball and the San Francisco Giants. He also coached youth baseball throughout the city, coaching, mentoring, and umpiring for teams at every level of play. Bob will be missed greatly in San Francisco community and the labor community. And I'd like to send my deepest condolences to the Boylo family and at this time would request that we adjourn in the memory of Bob Boylo.
