Good morning, everyone. Welcome to the Joint Legislative Audit Committee. This is the Committee's organizational meeting for 2025-2026. This will be a quick but productive meeting. One announcement. Assemblymember Valencia will be replacing Assemblymember Hart at today's hearing when he is here. Want to thank Assembly Member Valencia for doing that.

And also thank you to the Senators and the Assembly Members and everyone for being here. It looks like quorum is present. So, Madam Secretary, can we call the roll?

Thank you. It looks like we have a quorum. We have two items of business. We are going to elect a chair and then adopt our rules. I will take any motions for chair.

Thank you, Mr. Vice Chair, for the nominations. And thank you, colleagues, for your support. It does look like that motion is approved. Now we can move on to the Committee rules. There was a copy of the proposed rules provided to each of the Members before the meeting.

Very, very similar to the rules from prior session, with only one change. The cost ceiling for emergency audits under Committee Rule 18 was increased from 290,000 to 320,000. Again, this vote would take a majority of the Assembly Members and Senators. Do I have a motion?

I thank you, Members. And I am trying to make this the most efficient meeting of the year. And I think that we just accomplished that. So I appreciate everything that just happened. I look forward to working with you all this year. As you know, the Audit Committee has a joint oversight hearing immediately following this meeting.
