Bio

Lisa Calderon, 60, is a member of California’s influential Calderon family, which has included four members of the Assembly or Senate over the years. Her husband, Charles Calderon, is a former state senator and member of the Assembly. She was first elected to the Assembly in 2020, assuming the seat from her stepson, Ian. Prior to her election, she was a Latino community organizer, an aide for former Assembly Speaker Willie Brown and government affairs director for Edison International. She has a bachelor’s degree from Cal State Sacramento. She has two sons along with her stepson, Ian.
