Bio

Tom Lackey, 65, spent 28 years as a member of the California Highway Patrol. He has a bachelor’s degree in special education from Utah State University and was a teacher before joining the CHP.  Before joining the Assembly in 2014, Lackey was a trustee with the Palmdale Elementary School District and he was a member of the Palmdale City Council. In the Assembly, he’s been named Legislator of the Year by the police chiefs association and has an A+ rating from anti-tax groups. He has two children.
