- Mike Gipson
Legislator
I want to say good morning. I want to call the meeting to order of the Committee on Arts and entertainment and Sports and tourism. Before we start, I'm going to go over a few housekeeping items. We will be accepting in person testimony and witness in support and opposition. After we have heard from the primary witness, Members of the public will be given an opportunity to state their name, organization they represent, and the position on the Bill either support or oppose.
- Mike Gipson

Additional comments will be ruled out of order. Anyone acting inappropriately or disrespectfully towards the participants of this hearing will be asked to leave. The Committee also accepts written testimony through the position letter portal on the Committee's website. With that, I am ready to pass the gavel on. There's not a quorum. We're going to wait for a quorum. We may act as a Subcommitee in a few moments.
- Mike Gipson
Legislator
Members who are assigned to the arts, sports and tourism Committee would please report to room 444 so we can establish a quorum and start the hearing with that, I'm ready to pass the gavel to the Vice Chair and I'll be presenting Assembly Bill 3067. We will act as a Subcommitee. Mister Vice Chair, it gets a little.

- Mike Gipson
Legislator
Thank you very much, Mister Vice Chair. Good morning Members. Thank you for allowing me to present. Now we'll get started. Thank you for allowing me to present Assembly Bill 3067 Assembly Bill 3067 is a straightforward Bill that would simply require the CIF to post specific information on their website whenever it imposes sanctions on an interstellastic team of a Member school. Assembly Bill 3067 expands this idea and help protect provides additional transparency on how CIF enforces its rules and guidelines.
- Mike Gipson
Legislator
These rules and guidelines go beyond just simply policing bad behavior during high school sports. This Legislature has passed a number of bills over the last few years that have really taken aim at making the interstelastic athletic activities safer. This includes ensuring that coaches and staff complete training courses to be able to handle medical emergencies experienced by their student athletes. This isn't simply about shaming or putting a spotlight on teams that have been sanctioned.
- Mike Gipson
Legislator
Parents are entitled to easy, accessible information about these sanctions if a team that has a child is playing for, for, or against has issues following CIF rules with me to provide supporting testimonies. Mister Brian Anderson, the chief consultant for the Committee. Mister Anderson.

Legislator
Mister Gibson, before we move to your primary witness, can we call the roll please? Thank you, Secretary
