Senate Standing Committee on Appropriations

The Senate Committee on Appropriations will now come to order. We are meeting Today in room 2200 of the O Street Building, and today's hearing will should be pretty short, so we're going to get started quickly. We have 32 measures on today's agenda, all of which are suspense file candidates.

The Department of Finance has let us know that they don't have files on any of the bills up for today. Today's hearing, so their representative will not be present. The authors for all suspense measures on today's agenda have waived presentation, and as usual, we will be taking testimony from the public on each and every item.

Before we begin, I want to remind any witnesses to limit their testimony to the fiscal aspects of the Bill, and please refrain from lengthy policy discussions and repeating prior testimony in your comments before we begin the hearing. We're opposed to SB712. We do think there will be significant costs associated with making up for the lost emissions caused by this Bill.

And we have significant policy concerns as well, again with the loss of emissions reductions and what that means for public health. So we're opposed.
