Bio

Sasha Renée Pérez, 33, was the mayor of Alhambra, where she was born. She served as a political director for the Yes on Prop. 1 campaign, passed by voters in 2022 to add the right to abortion and contraception in the state Constitution. She was an appointed commissioner of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. She worked as an advocate to expand Cal Grant access to more college students and was recognized in 2022 for her work in creating  Alhambra’s sustainability plan and securing $670,000 in congressional funds.
