Cecilia Aguiar-Curry
- Assembly: 2016-present
Bio
Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, 72, is the Assembly Majority Leader. She has degrees in business administration and accounting from San Jose State. She was the first woman mayor of Winters. In state office, she has championed bills protecting victims of domestic violence and sexual harassment, and she’s spearheaded efforts to reduce the severity of wildfires. A friend of labor interests, she authored union-supported legislation to pay prevailing wage to workers on forest-thinning projects and another that would have restricted automated, driverless vehicles in the trucking industry. Curry has two adult daughters and a stepson with her longtime partner.
