Existing law requires a person engaged in the business of examining the records of the department and supplying that information to the public for compensation to first apply for a permit.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
Any A person engaged in the business of examining the records of the department and supplying information relative thereto to those records to the public for compensation shall first obtain a permit from the director. The director shall grant such a that permit when he or she determines that the applicant is qualified and intends in good faith to carry on such that business, and when the applicant files with the director a bond in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000).
