Version:

Existing law establishes the Department of Justice under the direction and control of the Attorney General and requires the department to, among other things, maintain a continuing investigation on a statewide basis of investment frauds and business crimes.

This bill would require the Attorney General to investigate any payout of $5,000 or more received as a result of prediction market wagering if the event outcome was a matter of national security.

Existing law provides that the sovereignty of the state resides in the people thereof, and all writs and processes shall issue in their name. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to these provisions.
