Bio
Blanca Rubio, 56, is one half of California’s only sibling duo currently in the Legislature. Her sister, Susan, is a state senator. Together, they sponsored a bill that expanded the statute of limitations for certain domestic violence offenses to five years and required training for police officers. Rubio has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education from Azusa Pacific University. Before being elected to the Assembly in 2016, she taught elementary school for 16 years, and served on the board of a local water district and a school board. She has two children.
