Thank you. Let us pray, Lord, from Luke 12:48. As a child in catechism class, I learned from everyone who has given much, much will be demanded, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. It's an important lesson. The responsibility we hold in this chamber is large, and the pressures are even larger.

At times we are so focused on the fight in front of us or in being right about others being wrong, that we forget to take care of ourselves and each other. Lord, grant us the serenity to accept the things that we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Today I rise with a heavy heart to adjourn in memory of Alfonso Al Feola, a Fullerton College PE instructor, football coach, and mentor. al Feola born in 1932, celebrated his 91st birthday on November 6, just a few days before his passing on November 17 at his home in Placentia, California. He was a standout athlete at Alhambra High School, where he played football and ran track before graduating in 1952.

He went on to have a successful collegiate career at Pasadena City College and then Pepperdine University. After college, Al Feola played in the NFL for the Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Rams and Oakland Raiders. Coach Alphiola was one of the hearts of sports and mentorship at Fullerton College since his arrival in 1961. His impact on Fullerton College football program, especially under Hal Sherbeck, was monumental, contributing to the Hornet's national titles in 1965, 1967, and 1983. Along with 16 conference championships.

As a defensive back coach from 1961 to 2004, Feola coached numerous all conference players and 16 all American athletes, some of whom went on to become NFL stars and Fullerton College hall of Famers, including Paul Moyer, JC Pearson, and Brig Owens. Feola's influence extended beyond football. He was also an assistant track coach for 27 years, working alongside head coach Jim Keefer to build a strong track program that recruited local athletes for both football and track and field.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Fiolo was a Golden Gloves boxing champion in 1952 to 1953 and used his extensive boxing knowledge to teach Fullerton College students. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Al Feola was inducted into the California Community College Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Fullerton College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007. The entire Hornet family mourns the loss of coach Feola. Please join me in honoring the memory of Al Feola in expressing our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the Fullerton College community. Thank you.
