January 13, 2026
  • Rebecca Bauer-Kahan

    Legislator

Am I on now? Yes. Okay. Well, you all missed me welcoming you to 2026 in the Assembly Privacy and Consumer Protection hearing. Maybe it'll be a quiet year in this case. Committee? I doubt it, but we shall see. But today we have two bills on the agenda. Two. Two year bills.

    Legislator

I want to thank both the authors for working closely with Committee and working hard on those bills in the interim, such that we are where we are today. Both have an Iraq.

  • Damon Connolly

    Legislator

Our committee's policies for testimony are as follows. We'll go over those briefly. Although, just to skip ahead a little bit, this is going to be a really short hearing. We have just one consent item. Primary witnesses and support must be those accompanying the author or who otherwise have registered a support position with the Committee.

  • Damon Connolly

    Legislator

Primary witnesses in opposition must have their opposition registered with the Committee as well. All other support and opposition can be stated at the standing mic when called upon to simply state name, affiliation and position. Welcome. Each primary witness will have two minutes to give their testimony.

  • Damon Connolly

    Legislator

We also accept written testimony through the position letter portal on the committee's website. As mentioned, we have only one measure today, AB763 by Assemblymember Ward, which is on the consent calendar. I want to thank the author and Committee staff for really putting in a lot of work to get us to this point.

  • Damon Connolly

    Legislator

So I believe we have a quorum, but why don't we go ahead, Madam Secretary, and please call the roll for purposes of establishing a quorum.

  • Committee Secretary

    Person

I will call the roll. [Roll Call] We have a quorum.

  • Damon Connolly

    Legislator

Great. So we will now vote on the consent calendar. Do we have a motion and second motion Lee. Great. Castillo. Okay. Why don't we take the roll call on the consent calendar.

  • Committee Secretary

    Person

On the proposed consent calendar is AB763, authored by Assembly Member Ward. Due pass to the Committee on Appropriations to be adopted to the consent calendar. [Roll Call]

  • Damon Connolly

    Legislator

Thank you, guys. Excellent. So that matter is out. That having been said, we have a couple of Members who are not here yet. We will leave the roll open for about 15 minutes and hopefully we can get those Members.

  • Rebecca Bauer-Kahan

    Legislator

People always ask questions if we don't vote on this.

  • Damon Connolly

    Legislator

Okay. We are going to reopen the roll.
