Bio

Sabrina Cervantes, 38, moved to the Senate after serving in the Assembly, where she became the first member of the Legislature to give birth to triplets while in office. She was elected to the Assembly in 2016, defeating incumbent Republican Eric Linder. She has a bachelor’s degree from UC Riverside, and previously worked as district director for Assemblymember Jose Medina. She is a member of the California Latino Legislative Caucus and the LGBTQ Caucus. She threatened to sue the Sacramento Police Department after being exonerated for DUI following a 2025 crash for which she wasn’t at fault.
