ARGUMENTS IN SUPPORT: According to the supporters, “Road debris forces motorists into dangerous maneuvers, resulting in some to lose control of their vehicles. Approximately 37 percent of fatalities from road debris are caused by swerving to avoid objects. Many motorists still do not fully understand that improperly secured large objects, such as ladders and furniture, are some of the most common items to fall off cars on to our streets and freeways. The Auto Clubs strongly believe education is the most important tool in avoiding tragic incidents like the death of 17-year old Ethan Hawks in 2016.”
