AB 1286: Airports: alternative customer facility charges.

Existing law authorizes airports to require rental car companies to collect a customer facility charge or an alternative customer facility charge under specified circumstances for purposes that include financing, designing, and constructing airport vehicle rental facilities and common-use transportation systems. Existing law requires an airport to initiate the process for obtaining the authority to require or increase an alternative customer facility charge no later than January 1, 2018.

This bill would extend that date to January 1, 2025.

This bill would incorporate additional changes to Section 50474.3 of the Government Code proposed by AB 218 to be operative only if this bill and AB 218 are enacted and this bill is enacted last.
