SB 89: Budget Act of 2020. | Digital Democracy

The Budget Act of 2020 made appropriations for the support of state government for the 202021 fiscal year.

This bill would amend the Budget Act of 2020 by adding items of appropriation and making other changes.

This bill would declare that it is to take effect immediately as a Budget Bill.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:SECTION 1.Item 2240-002-0890 is added to Section 2.00 of the Budget Act of 2020, to read:

2240-002-0890For state operations, Department of Housing and Community Development, payable from the Federal Trust Fund.				0
	Schedule:
	(1)	1665-Financial Assistance Program	0
	Provisions:
	1.	The funds appropriated in this item shall be made available to administer the State Rental Assistance Program.
	2.	Upon order of the Department of Finance, amounts transferred to this item may be transferred to Schedule (1) of Item 2240-102-0890.
	3.	Any amounts transferred to Schedule (1) of this item pursuant to Provision 2 of Item 2240-102-0890 shall be available for encumbrance and expenditure until June 30, 2022.

SEC. 2.Item 2240-102-0890 is added to Section 2.00 of the Budget Act of 2020, to read:

2240-102-0890For local assistance, Department of Housing and Community Development, payable from the Federal Trust Fund.				0
	Schedule:
	(1)	1665-Financial Assistance Program	0
	Provisions:
	1.	The funds appropriated in this item shall be made available to administer the State Rental Assistance Program.
	2.	Upon order of the Department of Finance, up to 10 percent of the amount available in this item may be transferred to Schedule (1) of Item 2240-002-0890 for the costs to administer the State Rental Assistance Program.
	3.	The funds appropriated in this item shall be available for encumbrance or expenditure until June 30, 2022.

SEC. 3.Section 39.00 of the Budget Act of 2020 is amended to read:SEC. 39.00.

This act is a Budget Bill within the meaning of subdivision (e) of Section 12 of Article IV of the California Constitution and shall take effect immediately.

SEC. 4.

This act is a Budget Bill within the meaning of subdivision (e) of Section 12 of Article IV of the California Constitution and shall take effect immediately.

SECTION 1.It is the intent of the Legislature to enact statutory changes relating to the Budget Act of 2021.
