Our aerospace industry supports more than 511,000 high paying jobs, generates more than $100 billion in annual economic activity, and generates $7 billion in state and local taxes. California is also home to three NASA research and engineering centers: Ames Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Many other key sites of aerospace activity call California home, including one right here in Senate District 8, McClellan Air Force Base. Our scientists, engineers, and innovators lead the nation in developing new technologies – from unmanned battery powered aircrafts, to the design of space-crafts, and commercial satellites – California sets the standard for progress. We are also at the forefront of advancements in navigation systems, meteorological forecasting, and advanced robotics developments.
